Empowering Survivors, Celebrating Leadership

A Transformational Afternoon at the 7th Annual Power & Influence Luncheon

Miami Regional University presents a $48,000 check to Global Innovative Foundation

On March 27, 2026, Global Innovative Foundation, Inc. welcomed an inspiring gathering of leaders, advocates, and community partners to the iconic Biltmore Hotel for its 7th Annual Power & Influence Luncheon — a signature event dedicated to advancing public service and uplifting survivors across Miami-Dade County.

From the moment guests arrived, the atmosphere reflected a shared commitment to building safer, stronger communities. The luncheon brought together elected officials, healthcare professionals, educators, law enforcement leaders, and changemakers united in one purpose: to support survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, and gun violence through opportunity, advocacy, and action.

Investing in Hope: $75,000+ in Scholarships Awarded

A defining highlight of the afternoon was the presentation of over $75,000 in scholarships, directly supporting survivors on their educational journeys. These scholarships represent more than financial assistance — they are pathways to healing, independence, and long-term success.

This year also marked the introduction of two newly established funds: The Marina Pavlov Scholarship and the Dr. Francesco Duberli Scholarship Fund, expanding the Foundation's growing legacy of impact.

Scholar recipients will pursue studies at institutions including Florida International University, Broward College, and Miami Dade College, with additional support from Jackson Health System and municipal partners such as the City of North Miami.

Honoring Leadership That Drives Change

The luncheon proudly recognized an exceptional group of honorees whose leadership continues to shape policy, strengthen communities, and advocate for justice. Among them, Katherine Fernandez Rundle received the Power & Influence Award, while Jeanette Marie Núñez was honored with the Trailblazer Award.

Additional honorees represented a wide spectrum of service — from law enforcement and healthcare to education and human rights — each demonstrating an unwavering commitment to advancing equity and protecting vulnerable populations.

Distinguished Voices, Lasting Impact

The program was enriched by the presence of esteemed leaders including Daniella Levine Cava, Alix Desulme, and State Representative Marie P. Woodson — longstanding supporters of the Foundation's mission.

The program was masterfully guided by Dr. Sandra Justice, with Dr. Rachel Tourgeman delivering a powerful invocation that set a tone of reflection and purpose. Guests were also treated to moving musical performances by talented artists, adding depth and emotion to an already meaningful program.

Centering the Voices of Survivors

Perhaps the most powerful moments of the afternoon came from the survivors themselves. Through heartfelt storytelling and poetry, they shared journeys of resilience, courage, and hope — reminding all in attendance why this work matters.

Their voices served as both a call to action and a testament to what is possible when communities come together with intention and compassion.
